In a recent conversation with my client Chris Campbell, Executive Director of the Boone County History & Culture Center, I learned he and his small staff raised over $40,000 in their 1-day fundraiser. I of course asked immediately, "How did you do that?!"
He told me a rock star board member came up with the idea to do a phone bank. With a mixed back of virtual vs. on-site callers to support this effort, Mary Ellen Lohmann, the Center's Administrative Services Manager, decided to follow her mother's advice when supporting your volunteers: make their job as easily as humanly possible. That's exactly what Mary Ellen did to make sure their people had everything they needed to make this day a huge success.
I knew right away I had to talk to Mary Ellen becuase I know so many of you have to do a lot of the leg work to ensure your campaign is a success.
Whether you're interested in a hosting a phone bank or considering a different avenue, you can use many of the strategies Mary Ellen shares in this episode to make yours a success as well.
